It's a mindset thing, right??? You know getting in the gym, walking around lost, YouTube researching so that you know where to start. Imagine signing up for a gym membership. You get pumped up about it, you buy the workout outfits, and you're extremely ready, but as soon as you sign in and walk pass the machines in the front......don don don.... the intimidation starts. When you look at certain people on machines, they have the meanest face, people that try to scare you and it seems as if all eyes are on you indicating that this is your first time or this is the reason why you left last time. Oh my God, I get the feeling. Then what about not knowing how to use a particular machine, oh my goodness =). You began to watch that person that looks like they're in the gym all the time or you tend to glance at that personal trainer that you didn't schedule an appointment for to pay for their services. Oh man, the agony.
Embarrassing moment for me. I was pumped one day, ready to workout. I said to myself, " I should be fine, I'm beautiful, I have on the right outfit, I worked out before, I'm ready like SpongeBob to go to work.... it out." Then I get to a particular machine. I was motivated by the person that was on the machine before, right and guess what happened? I made the mistake of not changing the weights to my specific level and oh man I struggled for almost a minute before I realized what was happening. I was trying to ignore the stares, the confidence of the personal trainer and the silent whispers. Then I began to focus on myself and remove my mind from the competition. Like really, this is my body and even if I work out with a phenomenal intensity I still may never compare to the results that another individual right. The common deal for me is 'Too each his own'...anonymous.
So, my point is, I understand what it feels like to start something and you want the immediate results. Whether you are overweight, a homebody couch potato, a homebody who only exercise through chores that you set for yourself, an individual who only go to work and home, an individual who only clubs, or an individual who just need a workout partner to keep your doctors away. Winning is a process. My motto is, "You have to win yourself 1st before others!"
